How to use it
- Type or paste your line. Short, quiet sentences look best.
- The tool opens with Through and Below on and Above off. Leave it for the dripping look, or tick Above to add more chaos.
- Move the Intensity slider. Around 30 to 50 gives a steady drip, and 80 and up looks melted.
- Press Shuffle if a letter looks too tangled, then check the character count.
- Press Copy text and paste it into your bio, caption or message.
Why this one drips
Most glitch text climbs. This page does the opposite. It opens with the Above box unticked and only two directions on: Through and Below. Marks that sit under a letter hang off the baseline like water running down a wall, and marks that cut through the middle add a scratched, struck-out feel. Nothing climbs into the line above, so the top edge of your text stays crisp while the bottom falls apart.
The effect is cleaner than the full stack, and it is easier to live with. A multi line caption keeps its shape. A bio stays tidy at the top and gets ragged at the bottom. That makes it a natural fit for horror posts, haunted house signs and anything else that is supposed to look like it is leaking.
The numbers behind the drip
The tool starts at intensity 45 with the sample "Do not look behind you". Twenty-two characters, spaces included, turn into 102 characters, and 80 of those are marks. Each letter gets 2 to 6 marks below and 1 or 2 through the middle, so a single letter carries between 3 and 8 extra characters. There are 39 different marks that hang below a letter and 5 that cut through it, so the drip has more variety than you might expect.
| Intensity | Marks below, per letter | "night" becomes | Feels like |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 1 to 3 | 17 characters | A few wet streaks |
| 45 (this page) | 2 to 6 | 28 characters | Steady dripping |
| 65 | 3 to 9 | 44 characters | Running down the wall |
| 100 | 4 to 14 | 67 characters | Melted |
For comparison, the word "night" with all three directions on at 45 comes to 50 characters. Dropping Above saves you 22 of them and a lot of vertical mess.
Writing text that suits it
Lines that sound like a whisper work better than lines that sound like a poster. Some phrasing that holds up well when the bottom of every letter is smeared:
- Short commands: "Do not look behind you", "stay inside", "she is still here".
- Dates and room numbers: "Room 237" or "Oct 31". Digits take marks like letters do.
- One word signs: "OCCUPIED", "DO NOT ENTER", "NOT ALONE".
Lowercase text shows the drip well because the letters are short and the marks have clear space under them. Capitals look heavier. Letters with tails (g, j, p, q, y) already reach down, so the marks tangle with the tail. If a word looks muddy, try rewriting it in capitals or pressing Shuffle until the tangled letters land on better arrangements.
Halloween bios and captions
Every year people look for ways to turn a profile into something spooky for October. Creepy text suits it because the drip does not need a long phrase to land. A short name with a short line underneath is enough. Keep two things in mind.
First, bio and name fields have length limits, and the limit counts the marks. The counter under the result shows the total, so you can see before you paste whether "Do not look behind you" at 102 characters will fit. Second, some apps strip or limit combining marks. If your drip disappears after you paste it, lower the intensity or try it in a post caption instead of a name field.
Which style for which job
| You want | Try |
|---|---|
| Dripping, leaking, haunted | This page: Through and Below |
| Text that rises and glitches | Scary text: Above and Through |
| Everything destroyed | Cursed text |
| Classic meme look | Zalgo text |
| Barely noticeable | Weird text |
Things that can go wrong
Stacks that fall below the line are clipped by some text boxes. If the bottom of your text is cut off, the box has a fixed height. Add a blank line below, or use less intensity. Screen readers may read the result poorly, so keep it for decoration and put anything important in plain text next to it. And if you ever need to undo it, the Zalgo text remover strips the marks in one paste. The glitch text generator has every style in one list if you want to compare.

Frequently asked questions
What makes text look creepy?
Combining marks hanging below and cutting through the letters make the text look like it is dripping or scratched. This page leaves out the marks above, so the top of the text stays clean and the bottom falls apart.
How do I make dripping text?
Keep Below ticked, leave Above off and set Intensity between 30 and 60. Every letter gets its own random run of marks, and Shuffle changes the arrangement.
Can I use creepy text in my Halloween bio?
Yes, as long as the app keeps the marks. Bio fields have length limits that count every mark, so check the character count under the result. Some apps strip or limit combining marks, so test a short line first.
Why does the bottom of my creepy text get cut off?
Some text boxes and bubbles have a fixed height and clip anything that spills outside the line. Lower the intensity or add a blank line below the text.
Why does creepy text not work on Instagram or Roblox?
Apps can filter or normalize text, and the rules are not always published. If your marks disappear, lower the intensity. If the app still removes them, it will not display this style.
How do I undo creepy text?
Paste it into the Zalgo text remover on this site. It strips the stacked marks and leaves the plain letters.
Is creepy text different from Zalgo text?
It is made the same way, from Unicode combining marks. This version uses only marks below and through the letter, so it looks like dripping, while classic Zalgo also stacks marks above.
